Snoqualmie Peaks

I90 Mountains to Sound Greenway Summit Series Prak Trails Warm up the hiking season on these great Spring Time Training Trails Rattlesnake Ledge - 4.0 miles – 1,160 foot elevation gain Overheard from another hiker arriving to Rattlesnake Ledge “This is the easiest hike for a view this good in the area.” Starting from immensely popular Rattlesnake Lake, the trail weaves up through the forest to Rattlesnake Ledge in just over a thousand vertical feet. The striking ledge visible from the parking lot is a wonderful scenic overlook and with views of Mount Si, Tenerife, Mailbox Peak, and Mount Washington is a good trail to get familiar with the Mountains to Sound Greenway. Mount Washington 8.5 miles – 3,250 elevation gain Continuing further up the greenbelt on I90 Mount Washington to a more remote feeling trail up the peak. Great early in the season as a well-traveled snow hike. Starting from the John Wayne Trail hike up past rock climbing crags to gain higher meadows and streams before the steeper push to the summit. Dirty Harry’s Peak 8.2 miles – 3,326 foot elevation gain Dirty Harry’s Balcony and Peak. Two scenic overlooks in one trail. Good early in the season as it can remain snow free. Find some of logger Harry Gault’s artifacts from his logging operation along the retired logging road. Western views back to Mount Washington and McClelland Butte can be seen along the way. The summit ledge opens up views to the North East over the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Bare Mountain 8.6 miles – 3,300 foot elevation gain Bare Mountain lays near the western most point of the Alpine Lakes wilderness between Stevens and Snoqualmie Pass. Tucked behind the popular Mount Si and Mail-box Peak Bare Mountain is great shoulder season destination with a remote feel. Climb steadily emerging from dense forest with interesting water crossings to the open upper slopes. Follow the gradual switchbacks through brushy hillsides where views of hidden alpine lakes, and mountain ranges from the north cascades down to Mount Rainier. This hike has a unique vantage point and wilderness feel despite it being within 26 miles on dirt roads from North Bend.
