At the foot of Mount Stuart and Ingalls Peak, Ingalls Lake rests in a high alpine basin surrounded by rocky crags passing by waterfalls and flower filled meadows.
From the Esmiralda Basin Trailhead start up the climb to Longs Pass, taking a left at the junction to lead to the rocky Ingalls Pass. Cross over the pass under Ingalls peak finding way through Headlight creek basin by meadows and draining snowfields to the rocky basin that holds icy Ingalls Lake.
Explore Tennaway Country by climbing classic lines on Ingalls Peak (the West Ridge). The 50 classics climbs of North America Full North Ridge of Mount Stuart, the West Ridge of Mount Stuart or the Cascadian Coular.
Or make a loop connecting the Ingalls creek trail to return back up Johns Pass and back to the trail head.
