A true best of the NW summit view.
Positioned perfectly at the edge of the Cascades for views across western Washington from the North Cascades, the volcanoes and over the Salish sea to the Olympic Pennisula. Clocking in at under 6 miles and 2,500 vertical feet this peak offers great accessibility with a grand view payoff from the fire look out.
The first section weaves through forested canopy and stream crossings before gaining elevation into the Alpine Environment. Expect to see snow well into late July on the upper trail that meanders through granite fields ever climbing. Traverse across the last saddle before looping back on the upper ridge. Scramble over granite blocks before ascending the latter on the fire look out summit.
Behold views of peaks to the East, Glacier Peak,
North Shuckston, Mount Baker and the Picket Range beyond White Horse and Three Fingers
West the Olympic Mountains
and South Mount Stuart, and Mount Rainier.
