John MacDonald Tolt River Park Trails

Overcast but serenely beautiful day on the Tolt River Trails.

Play & Learn

Features a walking suspension bridge over the Snoqualmie River, short flat loop riverside trails, and forested winding trails that climb to a scenic overlook of the Central Cascades and Mount Si.

From the parking area pass the river-side campground areas and cross the suspension bridge over the Snoqualmie river. Ascend straight up the road trail past the rustic cabin to climb the bluffs trail. A hard left turn on to east road bisects looping trails ideal for Mountain Biking or Trail Running. Continue past slash piles as the views open up at the end of the ridge to a bench over looking the Central Cascades with Mount Si. Descend back down to the flats where you can take a left onto the cotton wood loop trail. Experience lush vegetation and rolling trails that loop back down to the right through grassy fields and summertime campsites. Continue past the bridge along the Snoqualmie River for a dramatic view of the boat ramp at the second bridge. This area is popular with fishermen and water enthusiasts.

An additional loop can be added on the parking side of the river connecting the river rock riverside trail with perfectly manicured asphalt biking paths around ball fields, marsh and farm lands that connect back to the campground area and parking.
