Climb to the old Granite Mountain fire lookout on the high western side of Snoqualmie Pass.
From the trail head at the parking lot cross short bridges to ascend the often-rocky root strewn trail. Take a right at the junction left continues on to Pratt Lake. The trail climbs at nearly 1,000 vertical feet per mile. Be cautious crossing the lower avalanche shoot especially in winter through springtime.
High above I90 the upper slopes have a pristine alpine feel. Route conditions at higher elevations vary from snow covered to exposed granite blocks. Ascend the steepening granite blocks or snowfields to the fire look out at the summit.
